Fist debuted at the 1953 Basel Fair along with Blancpain Fifty Fathoms, the Zodiac Sea Wolf and the previously mentioned Blacpain were both credited with be the first commercially available dive watches. The Blancpain was rated to 300 ft, but the Zodiac was rated to 10 ATM (339 Ft) and was available with a rotating bezel. The Zodiac went on to be a very popular watch in it’s era with constant revisions to help it compete with the tool watch from Rolex known as the Submariner. This particular model comes from the 60’s when Zodiac decided to add colored Bakelite to the bezel and increase the water rating to 20 ATM (660) feet. This particular watch has it’s original riveted expansion bracelet and is being sold full kit, including hang tags, instruction books and boxes, although we believe the outer not to be the original the inner and the tags are from this watch. This one is in great condition for it’s age and is untouched as far as polish and that’s just the way we like it, I mean we are talking about a tool watch after all.
